If I had thirteen minutes to grab 13 items (for lack of a better term) out of my house that was being burnt to the ground (or something to that effect) and I was being completely selfish and not helping anyone else (which of course I wouldn't do) and take it somewhere and try and start a new life:
1. my car
2. with my bike attached
3. a bag of clothes
4. the bible Bill Read gave me
5. a box of what I once considered prized possessions as a kid
6. as many photo albums as I could carry
7. my file/folder of "important" stuff that would make starting over easier
8. the Cd's of pictures in my parents room
9. my mini DVD player
10. as many movies as I could grab (to keep sane)
11. my purse (including everything in it)
12. my snowboard
13. my paint
After making this list I realized how little I'm attached to possessions, most of these are just to make my new life easier and hold no sentimental value to me, everything in my life, other than people can pretty much be replaced with a little bit of hard work and some money. I think I like it that way. Yes, I am comfortable in my life, probably too comfortable, but I think I could give it up pretty easily if I had to.
